...now that we can finally let the cat out of the bag, congrats to KC Hub co-founder Ryan Weber as he steps into his new role as President of KCNext.
Ryan brings strong ties to entrepreneurship, innovation and angel funding to the table. We're exciting about this step for Ryan, KCNext and the innovation community at large.
KC-based JimmyGood Technologies recently launched a really interesting twist on the local/social app - MindPush. MindPush allows you to anonymously share with people around you. Using GPS, it determines your location and then lets you see what others have posted and lets you post too.
Now I'm sure all of these posts are tied back to your user account so abusive users can be stopped, but to other users, you're completely anonymous. That element of anonymity lets people share what they are really thinking, which could be a welcome change.
From checking traffic nearby before leaving your house to finding insider tips on where to score a great burger there are a lot of ways MindPush could be used. Another way it could be helpful is in emergency situations like the tragic shootings that happened at Independence Center on Saturday. Imagine if everyone there had an app like this. Once they got to a safe place, they could quickly post something to MindPush and warn others in the immediate area to take cover.
These are just a few ideas. How do you see it being used?
